On March 13, a team led by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) raided an offshore gaming operation base in Bamban, Tarlac Province, Philippines. It is reported that the POGO is one of the largest local offshore gaming operation bases.
According to Presidential Commission Against Organized Crime spokesman Winston Casio, the raid stemmed from a complaint filed by a Vietnamese who escaped from the compound of an offshore gaming company.
Presidential Commission against Organized Crime, Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group (IMEG), Intelligence Group (IG), Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC), and Northern Luzon Command NOLCOM spokesman Winston Casio said they issued two search warrants against Zun Yuan Technology Incorporated, an Internet gaming licensing center. It is reported that these search warrants were issued by Hermenegildo Dumlao II, the presiding judge of Branch 81, Third Judicial District, Malolos Regional Trial Court, Bulacan.
It is said that as of 5:30 a.m., Philippine authorities had arrested 408 people, including 234 Filipinos, 108 Chinese (107 mainlanders, 1 Taiwanese), 58 Vietnamese, 6 Malaysians and 2 Rwandans. These people all work within the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO).
